artist statement

.My landscapes are of places in Nova Scotia and Wales. I attempt to recall a particular place at the moment I was there. My non- representational work is intended to reproduce the mood of time and place. My strongest influences are probably Kyffyn Williams, AY Jackson and Mark Rothko.

Jeremy Akerman studied drawing, painting and sculpture at Cardiff Art College. He has had careers in archaeology, politics, government and journalism. He has published two books, "What Have You Done For Me Lately" and "Black Around the Eyes". He is one of Nova Scotia's leading and most experienced screen actors.
